Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Evolrix AI website and any research-access features made available to you (the "Service"). The Service is operated by IH BLUEX (Shanghai) Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (蓝色光钥（上海）智能科技有限公司, "IH Bluex", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The service

Evolrix AI is a research-stage AI system for synthetic biology. As of the date of these Terms, the public website is informational and collects research-access requests. The Service currently focuses on Pichia pastoris expression design — codon and sequence optimization, secretion design, and in-silico scoring — and is expanding to additional hosts and design tasks.

In-silico nature & no experimental warranty

This is the most important section. Evolrix AI produces designs, sequences, and scores in silico — that is, by computation, "before the bench." Specifically:

• Sequences are correct by construction with respect to the encoding target; Evolrix AI does not free-write or hallucinate DNA, and a deterministic solver guarantees the coding sequence encodes the exact target protein.
• However, all scoring (including secretion design, mRNA structure, codon adaptation, and similar) is computational, literature-grounded estimation. Evolrix AI makes no claim, representation, or warranty regarding actual wet-lab outcomes, including but not limited to expression level, secretion efficiency, protein yield, titer, solubility, or biological activity. Real secretion/expression efficiency is a wet-lab question that depends on host strain, conditions, assay, and many factors outside Evolrix AI's scope.
• Designs and scores are research inputs for qualified professionals, not validated manufacturing instructions. You are responsible for all experimental validation, regulatory compliance, and safety assessment before any bench or production use.

Access & invitation

Access to Evolrix AI features beyond the public website is by invitation. We are onboarding a small number of industrial R&D teams. Submitting a research-access request does not guarantee access; we evaluate requests at our discretion. We may grant, delay, modify, or revoke access at any time, with or without cause, and without prior notice.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful, legitimate research purposes, and in compliance with our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. In particular, you may not use Evolrix AI to design, optimize, or assist in producing any biological material intended to cause harm. See the Acceptable Use Policy for details.

Intellectual property

The Service, its software, models, documentation, the "Evolrix AI" name and marks, and all content we publish (including this website) are owned by or licensed to us and protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, brand, or proprietary technology except as needed to use the Service as offered. The demonstration data shown on the website (e.g., the example based on UniProt Q6Q4H8) is a static representative artifact; underlying literature and database entries remain the property of their respective rights holders.

Your content

If you submit protein sequences, queries, or other content to the Service (for example, during onboarding or use), you retain ownership of that content. We process the queries and sequences you submit solely to generate your result, in memory, without persisting them, and we do not use them to train models. Wet-lab assay results you voluntarily submit via the feedback feature are retained to improve calibration and may be deleted on request. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that results will be accurate, reliable, or achieve any particular outcome. The in-silico disclaimer in Section 3 applies in full. You bear all risk arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither we nor our affiliates, officers, employees, or licensors shall be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or research outcomes, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), statute, or any other theory. Our aggregate liability for all claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or, if you paid nothing, USD 100.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or your use of Evolrix AI outputs in violation of any law, regulation, or third-party right.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. For users in the European Union, the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. Any dispute will first be attempted to be resolved by good-faith negotiation; failing that, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Shanghai, People's Republic of China.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the Service evolves. We will update the "Last updated" date above; for invited users, material changes will be communicated through appropriate channels. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
